Projects
This page highlights some of the projects I have recently been directly involved in or supervised. I enjoy working with Data Science, Machine Learning/AI applications, Statistical Analyses and Data Visualization, particularly for non-profit projects or research. If you are interested in discussing future collaborations, training or consulting, feel free to reach out via email (mdr.datascience@gmail.com) or use the Contact page.

Machine Learning/AI for wildlife conservation
I currently have two projects running that aim to identify individual animals using AI at Anglia Ruskin University. One of the projects aims to detect individual badgers from camera trap images using Deep Learning, the other project aims to classify individual great crested newts from image data collected from a local pond.

Machine Learning/AI for brain imaging data.
I have worked in several projects during my PhD and post-doc research using Machine Learning/AI methods and brain imaging data (MRI, fMRI) to detect psychiatric disorders. More information on the methodology and outcome of these projects, can be found in my Publications page.

Machine Learning/AI for land classification using drone images
I have worked on a project to automatically detect land type from drone images taken in the north of Portugal.
Technical skills
I code mostly in Python, MATLAB and R. For Machine Learning/AI, I mainly use scikit-learn, tensorflow and pytorch. I also regularly use matplotlib, seaborn, plotly and dash for visualizations and dashboards. I also have experience with pyspark.
